Communication Tools for Lovers & Energy Workers

45051836164_808004f895_k.jpg

Communication Tools for Lovers:

A 4 week series designed for empaths, energy workers, sex workers, musicians, teachers of lineages that rely on direct transmission, and other professionals for whom it is necessary to energetically penetrate or relate deeply with, otherwise enter into others hearts, auras, psychic space, or boundaries in order to do the work.

Individuals in these professions often possess natural gifts that require the development of specialized understandings of boundaries in order to be healthy in their professional and personal relationships. This is part skill share workshop and part ritual/ channeling circle. We will focus on the personal communication habits of professional boundary transgressors with the intention of deepening our understanding of our gifts, for the benefit of ourselves, our families, and all we encounter on this uniquely intimate path of service.

Participants will be asked to complete a questionnaire prior to our first online meeting  and come to the table ready with a question they are currently facing in their practice or personal life.

We will meet for 4 consecutive wednesdays in January:

1/2/19 11am -1pm PST

1/9/19 11am -1pm PST

1/16/19 11am -1pm PST

1/23/19 11am -1pm PST

In this series, we will explore:

• Who’s space is this, and other important questions for negotiating the subtle realms

• The power of words and sounds to penetrate spaces and move energy

• Self love practice for opening deep acceptance of the sometimes surprising needs of our primal creature.

• Courageous conversations: Using our words to create environments conducive to our needs in healing spaces and in sex spaces (and especially in sexual healing spaces!)

• The roll of our erotic persona and sexual identity

• The relationship between pleasure and responsibility

• Non Violent Communication

• Verbal communication and boundaries skills for empaths and intuitives

• working with precepts, philosophical orientations, or lenses as guides

• working with our emotions, including containment, vulnerability, authentic expression, and conflict mediation

• understanding the way our family of origin experiences affect our perception of reality and proficiency or lack there of in the subtle realms of energy work.

• Working with the chakra system to understand communication breakdowns and awareness of some of the common differences in the ways that people of different genders are socialized to communicate around sex.

• Working with plants to improve our boundary awareness and relationship skills

• non-violent communication with our plant, animal, and other non human ally’s

This is a journey that requires your full participation. We will remain connected to our intentions of growth by reading Non Violent Communication by Marshall Rosenberg and meditating with herbal allies in between sessions. Participants will receive complimentary tools, practices, and writing prompts and be asked to bring the results of their process to the table each week to be workshopped during our time together.

This workshop will be recorded as a resource for others. If you miss a class, you will receive a recording within 72 hours to listen to before the next time we meet.

Cultivating your word magic is a lifetime journey. Whether you are new to choosing to develop these skills or you have already taken an introductory workshop in NVC with us, know that each class varies greatly based on the participants, and that this may be a perfect opportunity to receive personal support for any challenges you may have experienced in your learning process, which may enable you to deepen your integration and graceful embodiment of these skills.

The naturally quiet will practice finding the courage to speak. The naturally verbose will learn practices for tasting the fruits of deep listening and silence.

You will receive an email confirming purchase which also confirms your space. You will receive a zoom.us link within 72 hours of the first scheduled meeting.

Seasonal Re-Birth: A Donation Based Women's Moon Lodge

Join us this Indigenous People’s Day for a moving meditation on The Wheel of the Year, the significance of the season ahead, and the timeless natural women’s magic of rhythms and cycles, movement and stillness, manifestation and surrender. We will enjoy nourishing herbal elixirs for renewal and finding strength to face the blessings and challenges of a new season with courage and curiosity.

Our evening will be guided by myself and my dear sister Golden Drake . For the past year, Golden has been journeying deep in the realms of breast cancer. She has shown us all what it means to stay present and unflinching in the face of adversity and made a great leap toward embodying the bolder aspects of Goddess consciousness that are asking to be known and honored in these times. She is transmuting cancer into educational and liberating art by dancing through it alllll, including  the huge stack of unpaid medical bills Golden stares at every day, as a solo mom with teenagers and a lot of big healing still needed. This community has been amazing with many sisters stepping up to host fundraisers, and, continued support is still very much needed!

And so, 100% of the proceeds from this Women’s Moonlodge will be donated to Golden Drake’s medical bills fund. To register for the Moon Lodge, follow the link in our profile and sign up to make a one time donation of $20 or more or an ongoing donation of $2 or more a month to help Golden pay off her medical bills and rebuild her life after her recent surgeries. Please email a screen shot or email confirmation of your donation to detailsdevi@medicinemandala.com by 11 am on Monday October 1st to receive the address and gain admittance to the event.

Sisters who for any reason can’t make it out to sit in circle with us, and any Brothers out there who would like to stand and be counted as co-creators of this culture of care we are continuously working on weaving, you can click the link below and donate as well- your donations and help sharing this opportunity to contribute are so deeply appreciated!

Kava Temple is a place where we experientially explore Kava and its ability to facilitate healthy communities by gently guiding us into healing conversations. This ceremonial conversation will center around the important role that our sexual energy plays in our spiritual awakening process. In our time together, Erin Rivera Merriman will share the magic of Kava and it’s ability to help us navigate more easily towards personal truth while holding sacred space where all parts of you are welcome. Together we will explore ideas of: how Kundalini energy functions in women versus men, the true meaning of Shakti and how to recognize her in your body and life, your hormones as accelerants for personal evolution, Tantra, vulnerability, new relationship paradigms, authenticity, boundaries, and our sexual identity. Our journey will conclude with guided meditation and group energy alignment with sacred sound.

A Sacred Plant Medicine Assisted Communication and Relationship Skill Share Circle

Non Violent Communication or Compassionate Communication is a potent and practical tool for staying at the table of the present moment after we have made up a story about another, long enough to wonder if our story is true or projection, long enough to ask questions, to ask for clarification, to gain true insight into ourselves and another through the inevitable differences and misunderstandings that arise in deeper, more subtle levels of intimate relating like sharing intentional community, long term collaboration, ceremonial space, partnership, or sex. In this 3 hour circle we will work with Kava as a tool for helping us slow down and practice mindfulness in our communications, while exploring Non Violent Communication ( sometimes called NVC or compassionate communication ) and other effective tools for maintaining healthy relationships and communities.

Psychology warns of co-dependance and how it causes us to make our partner our god. Tantra beckons us to acknowledge and worship the goddess in every woman we meet. Direct communication tells us we are responsible for expressing our boundaries and needs with words, while many cultures have highly developed indirect communication styles that rely on a complex set of code words and gestures to communicate, where anyone raised in a different system is considered rude or disrespectful. We live in times where our daily lives bring us into contact with others from a diverse array of cultural backgrounds and that we are not all always speaking the same language. Often we are completely unaware that we are not communicating with one another. If you have ever felt misunderstood, if you find yourself often feeling angry, irritable, isolated, violated or betrayed, or have grown tired of your own judgements of others when they behave differently than you would have behaved, if you have a hard time saying no, a hard time negotiating boundaries and advocating for your own needs at work, in partnership, in collaboration or in the bedroom, join us for All My Relations, a sacred council space where Tantric Wisdom Goddesses and Sacred Plant Medicines intersect to inspire new ways of relating that foster health and longevity in all our relationships.

New Year’s Broom Making Workshop and Blessing Ritual

New Year’s Broom Making Workshop and Blessing Ritual

Brooms are used around the world for daily and ritual cleansing of spaces. A broom is an important part of making a safe and sacred space. In this industrial modern world handcrafts of all kinds are being replaced by machine made goods. The broom is no exception. Handcrafted brooms are on the brink of extinction.

On this New Years Day, we will gather together with Erin Rivera Merriman and special guest instructor Bethany Ridenour at Bridge Temple (Newly relocated to Elder Farm in Descanso, CA) for a day of slowing down, celebration, and study of the time honored craft of broom making.

Each attendee will make and take home their own turkey wing style whisk broom (shown in center photo above) and participate in a sweeping ritual that will assist us in clearing and resetting ourselves to greet the new calendar year with fresh eyes and open arms.

*** Please dress in warm layers, bring water, and a healthy snack to share with your sisters during our break. Cost includes all materials used to make your broom, covers Bethany's cost for travell and help offset the cost of the specialized tools she has created that enable us to create beautiful, long lasting, functional art/ritual objects with ease.

Bridge Temple Grand Re-Openning & Fundraiser for Puerto Rico

We began growing our practice community in our home in Ocean Beach, and have spent the past year focused on building an off the grid dedicated temple space in Descanso, CA, because we feel strongly that this work belongs in nature and that the immersion in nature is the real medicine.

We hope you will join us for an intimate, less formal gathering in celebration of a dream made manifest as reality. We will share Kava*, and ancient guide to establishing and maintaining healthy communities, and a council on the topic of community- what it is, what its not, our hopes and fears, our needs and prayers for this emerging sacred space. All genders welcome. We look forward to connecting with the partners, allies, and friends of our sisterhood.**

Please feel free to bring a drum, flute, maraka or other sacred instrument, warm layers, and a healthy dish to share afterwards.

( * Pregnant and nursing women, and those taking prescription anti-depressant/ anti- convulsant and related prescription medications are advised to refrain from injesting Kava, and are welcomed instead to come and connect with the medicine in spirit. **Yes, we will continue to hold women’s only spaces in the future because there is a lot of really detailed knowledge of how energy moves in the feminine vessel that is evident when we can be together around the explicit intention of experiencing what we share in common as women, but for our first public circle, we would like to seed a future in which men and women have places where they can go to learn together. )

All ticket sales and donations collected in exchange for tea, snacks, and other offerings will be donated to rebuilding communities in Puerto Rico, where much of my extended blood family resides and faces daily hardship in the aftermath of hurricane Maria.

Kava Temple: Sacred Sexuality at The Gaia School

A private group ceremony for students of The Gaia School of Healing and Earth Education.

Every religion, every tradition, every lineage on the planet is but a portal, a temple, a gateway or access point into the mysterious. loving, magical depths of the universe- into connection with God/Goddess/Creator/ Self/ All That Is. Your body is also a portal. If we can move beyond the goal of pleasure and release, intimate relating has the capacity to open us to direct communication and communion with the divine.

Kava Temple is s a place where we experientially explore Kava and its ability to facilitate healthy communities by gently guiding us into healing conversations. This ceremonial conversation will center around the important role that our sexual energy can play in our spiritual awakening process if we allow it.
